Inspiring Children
'Prerana' - our first-ever volunteering initiative at our Tata Electronics Systems Solutions (TESS) plant, focuses on several aspects of social development including educating the next generation, preventive health, environment and sports in Kolar district, Karnataka. The initiative currently covers over 5000 children and youth in schools across Kolar, and has aided over 15,000 beneficiaries indirectly.
Our team of senior women leaders and young professionals visited select technical institutions to provide career guidance for aspiring students.
Rural Development
Our 'Project Aanirai', launched in collaboration with Shreeja Mahila Milk Cooperative, aims to empower women dairy farmers by providing sustainable income opportunities. This initiative will support over 3,000 women dairy farmers across more than 100 neighbouring villages, creating over 120 direct and indirect employment opportunities. 100% of Tata Electronics' milk and curd requirements are directly procured from these dairy farmers. We are also working on a social entrepreneurship project for setting up a sanitary napkin-making unit managed by Women Self Help Groups (SHG), in collaboration with the district administration. This project is designed to provide livelihood to women while also addressing the critical issue of menstrual hygiene in rural communities. Both initiatives are centered around fostering economic independence and promoting social welfare for women in the region.
Additionally, we have engaged in a Social Entrepreneurship project for making homemade snacks by Women Self Help Groups (SHG), in collaboration with the Farmer Producer Organisation (FPO) and are providing them training and a free sales outlet at Tata Electronics' residential facility.
Impact Sourcing
We have a unique impact sourcing strategy to recruit women candidates from at-risk communities belonging to the socio-economically backward sections of society. We ensure that we provide avenues for their continuing higher education through our academic interface programs in partnership with reputed institutions including Bharatiyar University and Vellore Institute of Technology.

Helping Local Communities
We have developed a community hall, installed two community water Reverse Osmosis (RO) plants, solar streetlights, and CCTV cameras in the nearby villages. To support the local farmer community, we conduct awareness programs on sustainable agriculture and provide regular training and capacity building on Integrated Animal Husbandry Practices (IAHP).
We also encourage sports participation amongst local communities by organizing sporting events where employees and communities including men, women, and children participate.
Facilitating Disaster Relief
During crises caused by natural calamities, we dedicate ourselves to supporting impacted communities with relief and volunteering engagements.
Recycling Initiatives
'Recycling Newspapers to Carry Bags' is another volunteering initiative where our associates design and make carry bags from discarded newspapers. These bags are then distributed among farmers and small-scale vendors. Our employee volunteers have been part of interactive events to raise awareness about solid waste management.
Blood Donation Camps
We organise regular blood donation drives and donate collected units to various blood banks and government hospitals.
